What is The Problem?
Obesity has affected almost 4 in 10 adults in America
The problem we are tackling is obesity, more specifically, how diet and exercise affect adult obesity in Hollywood, and how we can change their habits. We choose obesity because obesity is a big problem in America. We Picked Hollywood because it is a low income community that is diverse, and many of the people living there are young adults, which is perfect for our problem we are targeting.
Obesity causes many problems like heart diseases, strokes, diabetes, an increase in sweating, and so many more health problems. The effect of theses health problems makes it very expensive to support and, most obese people live in a low-income community, so there they cannot help their health bills. Obesity has expanded so much that 40% of American, and 18.5 percent of children are obese. In Latino and black men, the obesity rates in 2015-16 were at 47% and 46.8%. In Latino and black women, the obesity rates have risen to 54.8% and 50.6%, is much higher than men’s. In LA, adult obesity had increased from 13.6% in 1997 to 22.2% in 2007; among school-aged children, obesity rates had risen from 18.9% in 1999 to 23.0% in 2008. The price of obesity has been rapidly increasing every year. A reason why people eat unhealthily is that fast food is cheap, easy, quick, and tasty. Also, many people have easier access to fast food. As you can see, we all have to take extensive measures to solve/ help this issue.
